YHWH
YHWH is the covenant name of the God of Israel, revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus when God says, "I am who I am."
Because the Israelites refused to say this name (for fear of taking it in vain), it became customary for them to substitute the word Lord when they read the Scriptures and came to this name. In like fashion, many Bible translations today translate it as LORD (using capital letters to distinguish it from the actual word, Lord). But the reality, it is not the word Lord, and it does not mean Lord. Instead, it is the covenant name of the True God (who, indeed, is the Lord).
In an effort to be true to the text of Sacred Scripture, much of the music from SDG Music will actually use this Name where it is indicated in the text, rather than using a substitute word.
